Laurie of Elm Grove, Wisconsin is a life-long learner in various arts like fashion, Jewelry, and floral design. She earned her BS Degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Including an AAS Degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Laurie, also, earned her Master’s from The Ichiyo School of Ikebana (Ikebana is known for Japanese Floral Art). Laurie was Past President and served on other board positions in the Ikebana International Milwaukee Chapter #22. She loves to create her arrangements with color, as well as, executing large designs. Creating with tropical flowers is of great interest. Her interest in Ikebana is to promote through in-person classes, zoom classes, workshops, demonstrations and solo exhibitions. Since Covid, she has expanded her experience in Ikebana through both in-person and especially on zoom to promote local, nationally and internationally. Currently, she is on the Board for The Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Florists Association. And previously for a few years as Chairmen for their Convention’s silent auction and raffle. In addition, she served on the Board plus as Floral Chairman for the Milwaukee Art Museum’s Garden Club. As a hobby: Ballroom Dancing and Argentine Tango are of interest, too.
